Discover some of the magnificent art treasures created in this area while retracing the footsteps of some very famous painters and sculptors. Master artists such as Chagall, Matisse and Picasso chose to work in the Riviera because of its unique light and the softness of its climate, a perfect setting for their fabulous talents.
The itinerary begins with a visit to the Renoir Museum where you can see a number of his paintings and visit the house where he spent his last years. Then we head straight to the Fernand Léger museum with its amazing gigantic pieces.
Lunch is at a pleasant surprise location and includes a visit to a spectacular private collection.
A few miles into the countryside just inland from Nice, we continue on to Saint Paul de Vence where you can explore this typically southern French village and feel the spirit of Yves Montand at every street corner. The tour includes invitations to discover a number of splendid art galleries hidden away in the narrow, steep alleys.
Just a few steps away, our visit will continue with the renowned Maeght Fondation, the headquarters of Modern and Contemporary Art. On the way back to Nice, we will make a little stop-over to the “Chapelle du Rosaire” designed by Matisse himself.
At Nice, in one the most beautiful areas of the city called Cimiez, you will be enchanted by the Chagall Retrospective, after which you can end the visit with a stroll around the beautiful Parc des Arènes.
Last but not least, we will take you to the Matisse Museum where you will marvel at the 68 beautiful, original masterpieces on display.
